Richard-David ZAOUI, the Sales Director of WAUTERS et Fils, has long deplored the lack of a luxury trade show in Paris and hence came up with this professional design and luxury packaging fair to allow small and medium sized businesses to meet up and share the same philosophy of what French-style luxury really stands for.
To ensure the highest quality Richard-David Zaoui has always insisted on keeping to three essential requirements: creativeness, technological innovation and expertise. In 1994 twelve designers were filled with enthusiasm at the idea he had come up with. At the same time, The Charente Departmental Council, the Poitou-Charentes Regional Council, the City of Cognac and The National Centre for Cartoons and Imagery offered their support in the fulfilment of this project.
The first show opened its doors late November 1994 in the most prestigious of settings -The Hotel Crillon , with its very plush atmosphere. It was christened “Les Places d’Or” and was inaugurated by Jean-Pierre Raffarin, who was The President of The Poitou–Charentes Regional Council at that time.
Today this event allows over sixty exhibitors to welcome clients and potential new clients to a prestigious venue and gives artists the opportunity to express themselves thanks to the use of traditional raw materials within a luxury packaging framework.
The flagship of design and luxury packaging companies are brought together under one roof to combine their skills destined for the perfumery markets, jewellery, alcohols and fine foods.
